General Art Rules
You may enter up to three times, one tokota allowed per entry per user. However, a single tokota may only be used once for the event. Art entries must have the correct semi-complex background (trees, sky, some effort made to show detail). Literature is allowed, entries must be 1500 words at minimum. You may not trace or heavily reference other people’s artwork. Linearts and premade templates are not permitted. Entries must be your own artwork, no commissioned entries. You may collaborate entries.This is limited to 3 people per collaboration (so up to 3 tokotas per entry). Each collaborator must be clearly listed in the description of the entry. You may lease a tokota in order to participate, but rules about who claims the prize must be worked out between owner and leaser. The leasing journal must be linked in the description of the entry as proof of the lease, otherwise it will not be rolled for that tokota. If there is no rule stated regarding prizes, they will automatically go to the owner of the tokota.
How to Submit an Entry
Submit your entry to deviantart. No preregistration required. Please include the following information in your entries description for each Tokota:

Cause what Tokota doesn't love being put in costumes? Probably most of them.

What would Tokoween be without a costume contest? Dress yourself and your Tokota in the most creative and hilarious halloween costumes you can conjure up.
Setting
Sand arena decorated for the occasion with pumpkins and haystacks. Sundown/night setting. The air is chilly but there’s no snow on the ground yet. Crowds watching the costume contest are wrapped up warm, sharing spiced mead and baked apples.
OR
A cleared circle in a forest, the trees are decorated with spider webs, bio-degradable toilet paper, and streamers! A bit warmer, held during the day for those who don't want to be out too late, but it is a foggy afternoon.
Requirements
A handler or starter is optional. However if you wish to receive the bonus, they must be at least 50% visible in an image or for literature they must be mentioned at least 7 times throughout the story. Each tokota must be 80% visible, or for literature the tokota must be mentioned at least 7 times through the story.Each tokota must have a costume (handlers/starters may also be in costume, but it is not required unless you wish to receive that bonus). For literature, the costume must be thoroughly described.
Judging Method
1-20 rolled randomly 1-40 effort score (judged against your own gallery) +5 for collaborations +5 for matching handler (or starter) and tokota costumes. These do not stack - you may receive a bonus for either a matching handler OR a starter, not both. +5 for a bonus Halloween themed image or 700 word story +5 for Honor/Obedient Trait +5 for Competition Halter/Headstall +10 for Coat Sheen +5 - 15 for Tokota Yummies (maximum one per entry) +10 for Excellent Confirmation OR +15 for Excellent Confirmation II (these traits do not stack as Excellent Confirmation II should replace Excellent Confirmation I) +15 for Peafowl Companion +10 for Dominant status (must be listed) +10 for Alpha status (must be listed)

FAQ:
How do I claim the participation prize?
Once the event has been judged simply go to the Prize Redemption thread in the bank and link your entry and this journal to receive x1 Black Cat Companion, to be added to your bank account. Companions may be resold for TT or traded as normal. You may only claim the Black Cat Companion once per person, even if you do three entries.
Can I do more than one bonus piece per entry?
No, only one bonus piece will count per entry.
Can I use the same bonus piece for all my entries?
No, they must be separate pieces.
What counts as a bonus piece? Can we do literature instead?
Any full body image that is Halloween themed that features the tokota in the entry counts for the bonus.
You may do a literature bonus piece - this must be at least 700 words in length that features the appropriate tokota.
Can we collaborate on the bonus piece?
Yes, but again this is limited to three people per collaboration and each person’s part must be clearly labeled.
Can I enter more than once?
Yes! You may enter up to 3 times, however you must use different tokotas for each entry. If collaborating, you can only collaborate / do your own entry the same maximum three times combined.
How do I apply Coat Sheen/other items to my entry?
Simply go to the Apply Item to Image thread in the TT Bank and link to proof of ownership of the item & your entry, then link to the bank comment in the description of your entry.
Is it one handler or starter per tokota for the bonus or one per entry?
It is per tokota, that means if you collaborate and want that bonus you must each include a separate handler or starter.
If my collaborated piece wins a prize, do all the collaborators get the prize?
No, each tokota will be judged individually.
Does this event count for the PoTA event placement requirement?
Yes it does!
Can our bonus piece be an activity, rite, etc?
Yes, however it must meet the requirements for those activities, rites, etc.
