To offer you all something to do with your tokotas while imports are posted and important initial things are sorted out, Takotna Cultural Association (TCA) will hold the first competition ever at the new headquarters in Takotna, AK.

This event will feature a variety of classes, and is open to both Prestige Breeders and Pack Leaders. Benefits will apply.

Submit your entry to deviantArt. No pre-registration is required.

Rules:


  • Tracing is allowed, but the photo must be credited.
  • Only one training image will count for bonus points.
  • Show will be judged on a mixture of RNG and effort points. Certain classes may be judged differently. As always, your effort points are based on your own quality and skill level. You will not be compared to other artists.
  • Usage of linearts, premade templates ... etc are not allowed. Photo manipulations are acceptable.
  • You may include up to two tokotas in an entry. (Excluding showjumping)
  • You may enter as many tokotas as you would like.
  • Fullbody required (at least 75% of animal is showing).
  • At least 50% of your rider or handler is required to be shown. (There may be exceptions)
  • You may lease a tokota for this event. (Note the group if you would like to lease one of the 20 starters.)
  • Members belonging to either faction may enter any class available, though faction benefits may apply (check individual class criteria)

SHOW JUMPING

Class info: Tokota must complete a course of 15 medium sized obstacles, within the allotted time.
Setting:
Sand arena, small patches of snow outside of fence. Wooden fencing, mountains in distance. Sky is clear.
Requirements:
-
Tokotas must be one year or older. Riders must be sixteen years or older.
-
Tack is required. Until official tack references are uploaded, you may use show jumping equipment similar to horses, or come up with your own as long as it includes a saddle and bridle-style halter. No bits.
Judging method:
+10 points for one training image of your tokota under saddle.
+10 points for Prestige Breeders.
1-30 rolled randomly.
1-70 effort points. (Includes attention to requirements and setting)

LIMITED DISTANCE ENDURANCE

Class info: Tokota must complete a 35 mile ride through forested property within the allotted time.
Setting:
Boreal forest, light snow on ground. Sky is clear. You may draw any occurrence during the ride- your rider and mount simply walking or running, encountering wildlife, crossing a river...etc.
Requirements:
-
Tokotas must be one year or older. Riders must be sixteen years or older.

Tack is required. Until official tack references are uploaded, you may use equipment similar to horses, or come up with your own as long as it includes a saddle and bridle-style halter. No bits.
Judging method:
+10 points for one training image of your tokota under saddle.
+10 points for Prestige Breeders.
1-30 rolled randomly.
1-70 effort points. (Includes attention to requirements and setting)

HALTER

Class info: Tokota must stand erect and maintain focus on handler. Conformation and obedience are both main factors in this class. No faction benefits.
Setting:
Sand arena, small patches of snow outside of fence. Wooden fencing, mountains in distance. Sky is clear.
Requirements:
-
Tokotas may be any age. Handler must be sixteen years or older.
- Handler is not required.
- You must display your tokota's hierarchy status. Lifted tail and raised head for dominant tokotas, lowered tail and raised head for average tokotas, and lowered tail and lowered head for submissive tokotas.
- Collar and/or halter are required. Muzzles are allowed for more aggressive tokotas.
Judging method:
10+ for one previous full body image of tokota with their handler/rider.
1-30 rolled randomly.

BEAR HUNTING

Class info: Tokota and rider will stay within the 100 acre marked zone. Score is based on the rarest pelt(s) acquired. This is a dangerous competition and extreme caution must be used.
Setting:
Boreal forest. Light snow on ground. Can depict lakes, rivers, mountainsides, etc. Sky is clear.
Requirements:
-
Tokotas must be two years or older. Riders must be eighteen years or older.
-
Tack is required. Until official tack references are uploaded, you may use equipment similar to horses, or come up with your own as long as it includes a saddle and bridle-style halter. No bits.
- An emergency weapon is required - bow, crossbow, gun, or knives. Though these may not be used unless the situation is dire.
- When a bear is targeted, the rider will dismount, and command their tokota to bring it down. The ideal catch will be intact with no wounds or bite marks anywhere but the jugular.
- If you decide to include any blood, violence or gore, please remember to mark your image with the appropriate maturity filters.
- As long as the bear is in sight, you may draw your tokota/rider approaching, stalking, or bringing down the animal. You are not required to include violence or blood.
Judging method:
+10 points for one training image of your tokota under saddle.
+10 points for Pack Leaders.
1-30 rolled randomly.
1-70 effort points. (Includes attention to requirements and setting)
1-4 random prey points (how many bears you managed to bring down)
1-# rarity of prey pelts, rolled randomly in the range of your effort points.

ICE RACE

Class info: Entrants will race on temporary track set up above a frozen lake. This is a test of speed, balance, and agility. Track has been tested for thickness, but caution must be taken.
Setting:
Icy, frozen over lake, similar to this one track fence is marked with orange cones. Crossing or slipping past these cones is an automatic disqualification. Sky is clear.
Requirements:

Tokotas must be two years or older. Riders must be eighteen years or older.

Requirements for grand champion: Entered at least four classes, received at least one first place.

GRAND CHAMPION:

- One breeding (litter is rolled, you pick one pup) to - dam may be one of your own, or one of the 20 starter females.
- 5+ Faction points (will be explained soon!)
- One tokota custom. (brown, tawny, or tundra - natural, half-mane, or sphinx)
- One totem piece
- First ever Tokota of the Month award feature for August, 2014.
